7 nights to connect and awaken. Learn that the most valuable relationship you have, is the one with your inner most self
Immerse into Sri Lankan culture, in community, through the power of nature, travel, and yoga.
THE DETAILS
Our aim is to offer a trip that feels mindful and culturally centered. An exploration of the south of Sri Lanka, and an opportunity to navigate the inner terrain of body, mind and heart. In pursuit of deeper connection, travel becomes a remarkable ally in the uncovering of our innate essence. When we disrupt the habitual nature of our daily lives, our unique patterns of feeling and dealing are revealed. This offers us a gift of attunement through presence and perspective. We're able to recognize the places seeking alignment, and realize our agency as we move forward.
Spend your days starting practice on our dreamy property followed by a beautiful breakfast spread to nourish and support you. Our days will offer a combination of both free time, and organized adventures to the nearby landmarks. Expect to explore the beautiful historic Portuguese town of Galle, take a lesson at Kabalana surf beach, explore Kogalla Lake and Cinnamon Island and local cinnamon production. We'll spend a full day at Yala National Park on a jeep safari just 2 hours from the retreat center. Sri Lanka is home to the largest elephant population in Asia. On days off, walk to nearby beaches to relax, grab a smoothie at one of the surf cafes, or receive a massage treatment (on us) at the hotel!
All dietary preferences/restrictions will be accounted for and meals that take place within the house (we eat out 2 times) will be seasonal, local, and holistic. Our time in Sri Lanka is an opportunity to use food as a way of connecting deeper to nature, and wholeness.
THE YOGA
Amidst all of this, we will equally spend time immersing ourselves into self study (svadhyaya. Twice a day sadhana (practice) with meditation and pranayama as well as self inquiry work, will promote an intimate conversation with your inner most self.
UPON REGISTRATION, YOU'LL RECEIVE ACCESS TO A PRIVATE TRAVELER'S PORTAL THAT SHARES FURTHER DETAILS ON YOUR TRIP. EACH MONTH FOR THE 4 MONTHS LEADING UP TO OUR DEPARTURE, WE MEET VIRTUALLY TO CONNECT AND PREPARE.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This is for those who are looking for a quality yoga experience and an amazing, well-rounded trip to Sri Lanka. This is for the person seeking an inner refuge in a beautiful setting, & who has a deep desire to be taken care of.
You will be expected to participate in the yoga journey just as much as you immerse yourself abroad. On our trips, we foster a deep sense of community (kula) and are all present for one another through each practice and conversation. We dine together for every meal because the best conversations are had at the table. Each trip is designed to feel holistic and dimensional, and a perfect balance between activity and relaxation.
Dani will lead a morning practice each, 2 hours of asana, pranayama, meditation and inquiry. If it is to your benefit, a restorative yoga practice will be offered each evening. The final practice will be 108 sun salutations to seal the imprint and impact of our week.
If you like hanging out with like minded people, whether you're wanderlusting with your travel bestie or going solo, you'll have a built in community for the week.
MEET THE TEAM
DANI REIDY - TRIP LEADER + TEACHER
Dani has led over 20 international yoga retreats since 2015. From the beginning, her intention has always been to thread the essence of yoga through each moment of the trip, whether in formal practice or in the lived experience of exploring a whole new place with openness, awareness, and curiosity.
With a background in Anthropology, she is meticulous about curating a trip that feels equal parts adventurous, and luxurious, while honoring the traditions, values, and power of a place and its people.
It is Dani's joy to provide a high quality experience that feels special, beautifully designed, and thoughtful. She is here to support your journey, from the logistics to the subtle realms of heart and mind.
JULIE ANDERSEN - PHOTOGRAPHER
One of our main pillars as a yoga company is mindfulness. By offering a photographer on our trips it gives our guests an opportunity to be in the moment vs trying to take a picture of it. Included in your trip cost is unlimited access to photos taken each day. Uploaded by the next morning, you'll have access to and be excited about reflecting on each day. We also offer mini one- on-one shoots for an additional cost.
