AIM:
A MAP TO SELF
A 21-day immersion in Montezuma, Costa Rica
Welcome to Arrow Yoga's In-Person 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. As devoted practitioners, we are proud to serve as stewards of this ancient system. We are committed to transmitting the knowledge that has been passed on to us with the utmost reverence.
Our interest in guiding a 200 hour is not just to provide the knowledge of yoga, but to give you access to its lived experience. For 21 days, you will be immersed in a rigorous study of yoga. You will learn how to lead a modern approach to the physical based practices, while steeping yourself into its historic origins.
As we share our interpretations of yoga, we are also dedicated to honoring yoga's ancient practitioners and the literature they left for us.
This program isn't just about learning how to teach. More so, it’s about learning how to practice.
You will walk away learning how to facilitate a vinyasa & restorative physical yoga class, while also learning how to lead traditional techniques for pranayama and meditation.
Beyond teaching, we emphasize self-study and practice as a guiding principle to our studentship and our personal growth. Join us if you are ready for an in-depth study of your yoga practice and yourself.
Read below to learn if this program is right for you.
"I feel like I have received the most holistic version of YTT available - it was spiritual, physical, emotional, mental ... POWERFUL. I would recommend this training to anyone. I love being held to a high level in trainings, because it makes me feel like I am getting the most out of my time and investment. You exceeded expectations."
The heart & essence of the training
PROGRAM FORMAT
Throughout the course of this training, you will learn the fundamentals of your asana practice, aim inwards through meditation, and activate your authentic power through self-study. Your training will be broken down into 8 modules over the course of 21 days (2 days per module). Each module is inspired by one of the 7 chakras. The 8th and final module will be focused on assimilating all the knowledge learned and its application.
The chakra system is an ancient architectural blueprint for understanding the energetics of mind-body-spirit and will serve as a symbolic and organizational component to the design of our training. Each module will also correspond with each one of the 8 limbs of yoga, as described in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
This 21-day program is a comprehensive approach to becoming a well-informed student of yoga. We value presenting the course material of ancient yogic principles through our unique modern translation. Not only will you learn the art and science of this practice from a historical context, you will also be able to interpret it through a language that is relevant to your daily life and practice.
Educational workshops, conversation, and reading assignments will coincide with the implementation and application of what is studied through repetition of practice teaching. It is through the development of your own personal practice that you will begin to share yoga as a teacher.

OUR TRAINING LOCATION
Aves Retreat Center
Montezuma, Costa Rica
Aves Retreat Center is located in one of our most favorite places on earth. Back in 2015, Dani led her first yoga retreat in this hippie surf town, sandwiched between lush tropical jungle and the beautiful Pacific ocean. The retreat center is a modern sanctuary, with pools, a restaurant that will provide all of our meals, comfortable rooms, and a beautiful ocean view yoga shala where we'll spend most of our day.

what to expect
Dani has combined her passion for hosting retreats with her knowledge of leading trainings to curate a thoughtful experience that allows you to immerse yourself into the teachings while enjoying the beauty of Costa Rica.
Our time has been organized so that we study 8.5 hours daily for 4 days. The following day will be a rest day, during which you can integrate, process, and play. On days off, Dani will help to organize optional activities like surfing, zip lining, and hiking to a nearby waterfall to swim. On the final day of our training, we will all celebrate by taking a boat tour to Tortuga Island together.
Throughout the training, 2 Arrow Yoga YTT graduates will be assisting Dani for 6 days at a time, with a total of 6 assistants transitioning in and out over the course of the program. These teachers will be here to serve as support for our experience and will be facilitating classes and lectures for you.
All information regarding travel will be listed for you in your private YTT portal.
Every month for the 6 months leading up to our training, we will host a virtual group call to connect and discuss how to prepare for your upcoming training abroad.
OUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Aves is a modern, boutique hotel nestled on a hilltop five minutes above Montezuma Beach, a small coastal beach town on the east coast of the Nicoya Peninsula. A domestic flight from San Jose to Tambor will bring you just 30 minutes to our retreat.
Some of the room features include a large outdoor deck, kitchenette, air conditioning, ceiling fans, WiFi, room safes, high ceilings and comfortable beds. The outdoor deck has a garden view highlighted by a 200 year old huge pochote tree, view of the 17 meter lap pool and flowing creek. You'll have access to a secondary lounge pool with a cascading waterfall, a gym, and massage treatment rooms. Enjoy the ocean views from our yoga shala during practice and training each day.
Receive 3 delicious vegetarian meals per day to foster ahimsa & saucha.
This is a dry experience, meaning no alcohol will be served
let's talk all about it
Investing in teacher training is a big deal. Schedule a no pressure call with Dani to learn more about the program and find out if it aligns with you. We are here to support you in making the most informed decision.

Scholarships Available
To create a diverse range of teaching voices and ensure all students are represented in the classroom, it’s imperative to take yoga outside the studio and into communities that are often underrepresented in a typical yoga class.
Scholarships will be prioritized for BIPOC communities. Please reach out if you have any questions. Scholarships are awarded up to $1,000.
